Getting There

By Air
Close to 10 airlines fly from Manila to Cebu to Caticlan and to Kalibo, Aklan daily. Travel tine is 50 minutes. Chartered flights from Manila and Caticlan airport are available as well as flights from Cebu and Iloilo to Kalibo.

By Sea
Boracay is served by the ports of New Washington, Dumaguit and Batan, Aklan. Direct voyages from Manila to Boracay are available via WG&A Superferry. All ships depart Manila North Harbor , Travel is about 20 hours.

What to Wear
Light casual clothes are recommended. A shirt or shorts over your light swimsuit and sandals are ideal for leisure walks on the beach. For those who are sensitive to the tropical sun, hats and sunshades are a must.

Language
The local dialect is Aklanon. Majority of the people are conversant in English, Pilipino or Tagalog.

Banking
Bank opens from 9am to 3pm. Mondays to Fridays.

Best Buys
Boracay is a haven for best buys. T-shirt,, sarong, shell jewelry and shells, native baskets are widely sold in shops or in the flea market.

Temperature / Climate
Dry and warm from March to May with temperature ranging from 23 – 32 degree Celsius. July to August is pleasantly wet. November to February is cool, temperature ranging from 22 to 28 degree Celsius.

Tipping
The standard tipping practice is 10% of the total bill. For most hotels and restaurants that includes service charge. Tipping is optional.
